Vittore Carpaccio (c.1465-c.1520) était le plus grand peintre narratif du début de la Renaissance de l'école vénitienne, imité par Gentile Bellini et Lazzaro Bastiani, et influencé par la peinture flamande.

Vittore Carpaccio (c.1465-c.1520) was the greatest early Renaissance narrative painter of the Venetian school, emulated by Gentile Bellini and Lazzaro Bastiani, and influenced by Flemish painting.
He is best known for a cycle of nine paintings, The Legend of Saint Ursula.
